An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Srinagar with over 220 passengers on Wednesday encountered severe turbulence due to inclement weather, causing panic onboard. A video of the terrifying mid-air incident has gone viral on social media, showing passengers screaming, crying, and praying as the aircraft shook violently.

The cabin appeared chaotic, with overhead bins rattling and people clutching their seats in fear. Despite the frightening situation, the flight landed safely, and no official injuries have been reported so far.

While official confirmation is still awaited, initial reports suggest damage to the aircraft’s nose, possibly due to a weather-related impact during the flight.

According to an official from the Airport Authority of India, IndiGo flight 6E2142, en route from Delhi to Srinagar, faced bad weather conditions, including a hailstorm. The pilot informed ATC Srinagar about the situation, and the flight was closely monitored.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, the flight was able to land safely in Srinagar at 6:30 PM, with no reported injuries.

“All Aircrew and 227 passengers are safe and flight is declared AOG by Airline,” the official confirmed.

AOG (Aircraft on Ground) indicates that the aircraft is temporarily grounded and unable to operate due to technical or safety reasons.

Several passengers have shared videos of the incident on X. One user wrote: “We had a narrow escape from Delhi to Srinagar flight indigo. Special thanks to the captain and cabin crew.”
